Allow me to introduce to you Jay Murda from HAZARD COUNTY, MARYLAND. Jay Murda has been emceeing since the age of 14. His biggest inspiration was his brother, who was also pursuing a music career. In his adolescent days, Jay Murda and a few of his homeboys from the community would freestyle together and have ciphers throughout the neighborhood, sometimes recording them to tapes. From there Jay Murda’s hunger to be the best rapper in the game was born. Jay is quoted saying "I would write anytime I thought of somethin' slick, anytime I had spare time, or heard someone else spittin "that always inspires me to write."

     During Jay Murda’s short time attending the University of Maryland, He met (PRODUCER/ AUDIO ENGINEER) Chung. He helped record Jay Murda’s first LP "LIFE, THE HUSTLE" which was put on the back burner before reaching completion, because their lead audio engineer was sent to serve in Iraq. In the meantime Jay Murda didn’t want to stay stagnant. He did things to could to stay focused. After a while Jay Murda grew tired of waiting around thinking someone would do something for his music career. He decided to put together his own studio; from there the group BVC was formed. They compiled an album and an almost completed mixtape, and a opportunity to perform at a local night bar. Unfortunately things did not work out as planned with the group.  Jay Murda is still making Moves.

     Jay Murda has done various shows throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County; Harford County; Delaware; Washington DC; and New York to name a few. With a catalogue of mixtapes and videos spread on the internet it’s hard to say this emcee is staying stagnant. 

     Jay Murda, said, "I just wanna bring something new to the game of hip-hop, Like the great ones before me like, Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, and 2Pac.
